The 35cm size Birkin is probably the most "standard" size birkin, in between the smaller 30cm and the larger 40cm. At about 14 inches wide, this is a great size for a work tote or everyday bag.
In chocolate brown ardennes and gold hardware. Interior is lined in chevre (goatskin) leather, and features a side pocket and a side zipper pocket.
Ardennes leather, a stamped wide grain leather, is the ultimate work horse leather and no longer produced by Hermes. It's stiff and rigid, like Epsom, but much thicker, with the look of clemence but the behavior of a thicker epsom - it will not slouch or crease. We love Ardennes for its durability and ability to withstand wear and keep its structural shape over time.
This bag is a "D" stamp from 2000; it is 22 years old and has never been sent to the spa and still has its mint/crispy yet to be broken in shape. This item is in excellent condition with very few signs of normal use. The hardware (zipper pull and rivets) have aged over time. Corners are clean with no rubbing or scuffing. Hardware is clean and shiny. Interior is clean. Resin on edges and handle are clean and show no signs of fraying or wear. Exquisite, vault-preserved.
